Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish effective solid/liquid separation and prevent breakage of the pump and deterioration in capacity by means of a ultrasonic wave trasmitter provided in the liqud at a proper position in the passage to the pump from the upward passage so as to put the bubbles together with each other, causing thereof to be floated or broken.
CONSTITUTION: In a solid/liquid separator, a deairing device 14 provided at a proper position in the passage to the pump P from the upward passage B to break small-diameter bubbles contained in the liquid by enlarging thereof in diameter. The deairing device 14 is provided with an ultrasonic wave oscillator 15 in the liquid where a passage F is located at a overflow section leading to a tank 6b from the upper portion of the upward passage. With such an arrangement, bubbles in the liquid are put together with each other to enlarging thereof in diameter while increasing the floating velocity to the extent that they are caused to be broken. In this manner, the deairing can be done until the liquid reaches the pump P preventing breakage of the pump and deterioration in the pumping capacity thereof
