Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable multisheet copying and yet reuse of a photoreceptor, by developing an electrostatic latent image on an amorphous silicon photoreceptor, half fixing the toner image, further laminating the toner, and then, transferring the nonfixed toner image laminated onto a transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer made of amorphous silicon (a-Si) containing 10-40atom % H, 10<-6>-5X10<-2>atom % 0, and further, 10-20,000ppm B or the like is formed on the surface of a conductive substrate to form a photoreceptor 1. The photoreceptor 1 is subjected to charging 2, imagewise exposure 3, and development with a powder developer 4, and then, the toner is half fixed 4' at a temperature lower than a normal fixing temperature by 20-40 deg.C. After the following recharging 2', the photoreceptor 1 is uniformly exposed to charge only the half fixed image part, and after development 5, the nonfixed toner 5 is transferred onto a transfer paper 7 with a transfer charger 6 or the like. After transfer on the necessary number of the papers 7 the half fixed toner 4' is removed with a blade 8', and the photoreceptor 1 is uniformly exposed to regenerate it. Since the a-Si layer is high in hardness and resistant to the blade 8, a superior image having a long service life, and photosensitivity and charging characteristics enhanced by doping it with B or the like.
