CONSTITUTION:An amorphous silicon photoconductor layer containing 1X10<-5>- 5X10<-2> atomic % oxygen, 10-40 atomic % hydrogen, and 1,500-2,000ppm element of a group IIIb of the periodic table is formed on a conductive substrate to form a photoreceptor 41, this is uniformly charged with a corona charger 45, imagewise exposed with an imaging optical system 43 through using the white light of an exposure lamp 56 to form a primary electrostatic latent image.
