Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the detection time for a leakage point considerably, by constituting the radioactive gas waste processing unit for an atomic power plant and so on so that a leakage detecting medium may be supplied to detect presence or absence of leakage.
CONSTITUTION: The part in the downstream from condenser 9 is operated in a negative pressure state by vacuum pump 21. In case that leakage of air into exhausted gas is detected by flow meters 10 and 20 and so on, helium gas is supplied as a leakage detecting medium (tracer) into the airtight layer, for example, room 37 provided with damping tube 11. If helium gas supplied into room 37 is detected by helium detector 30 of measuring unit 24 in the downstream, it can be confirmed that leakage is generated from the unit in room 37. In case that leakage is not detected in room 37, helium is supplied to another room, for example, room 35 to perform the similar test. By testing plural rooms successively in this manner, the leakage position can be limited rapidly without removal of the heat insulator and so on.
