PURPOSE:To facilitate functions of a cleaning device by providing a conductive member with an uneven surface in front of a cleaning member and closely to the surface of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION:Through a conductive fiber 6, an AC power source 10 applies a 2kV, 50Hz AC current to a bias roll 5. Then, an unbalanced alternating electric field is established between each projection of the uneven surface of the bias roll 5 and the surface of a photoreceptor 1 and residual toner on the photoreceptor 1 is stirred by electrostatic force to stick and acquire about 50% stirred and scattered toner in recess parts of the bias roll 5 by an ion wind, electric fields, etc. The remaining toner 9 passing by the bias roll 5 is destaticided and sticks onto the photoreceptor 1 light in slanting streaks to be carried to a magnet roll 3 performing main cleaning operation.
