Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a catalyst body by making the reaction heat of a reaction gas generated from contact with the catalyst head exchangeable with a cooling fluid through a plate type heat conductive wall to efficiently absorb heat generated by contact reaction. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus 15 consists of the catalyst body 29 which is present in a reaction gas passage 26 and formed by supporting a catalyst to a metal net molded into a wavy form, the plate type heat conductive wall 28 and a wavy metal net 30 which is present in an air flowing passage 27 and containing a filler 31 filled in a gap thereof. By this apparatus, the reaction heat generated by reacting a reaction gas in the catalyst body 29 in the passage 26 is rapidly transferred to air flowed in the passage 27 through the heat conductive wall 28.
