Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an igniter, a charged-capacitor-type igniter, by dividing the output voltage of an electricity generating coil for charging a capacitor, to produce a gate signal for a semiconductor switch for ignition. CONSTITUTION:The gate of a thyristor 6 is connected between the anode of the thyristor and an electricity generating coil 1 provided in an electricity generator, so that a divided voltage at the same phase as the voltage of the coil 1 is applied as a trigger voltage to the gate of the thyristor 6. Thus, the divided voltage having reached a trigger level is applied to the thyristor 6 when necessary charge is stored in a capacitor 3 by the coil 1. For that reason, no excess charge is stored in the capacitor 3. Since the charge which is released from the capacitor 3 is the minimum, the load on parts which constitute the circuit is reduced.
