Abstract

PURPOSE:To charge a capacitor for ignition from starting to the high speed up to a required voltage, by providing a converter in addition to a generating coil, in a capacitor charge and discharge type ignition device. CONSTITUTION:Capacitor C for ignition is charged by an output from a converter B and an usual electric supply circuit A including a generating coil. The voltage of output (a) from the supply circuit A is low because the output from the generating coil is small in the range of low speed. An ignition capacitor C is charged by an output (b) from converter B at low speed. Converter B is allowed to stop by switch SW at high speed when the speed is more than N1, but may continue operation constantly. Thereby, the ignition capacitor can be charged stably up to the required voltage from starting the engine to its high speed and stable ignition characteristics can be thus obtained.
