Abstract

The system is intended for a combustion engine with magnetic ignition and timer device and having a magnetic ignition generator connected to the spark circuit, so as to produce timed sparks. A solid state booster or auxiliary circuit is provided and connected to the magnetic ignition and spark circuit to supply timed additional spark energy to the engine during starting. The booster circuit which may comprise a charging control circuit, has a storage capacitor connected with the charging control and magnetic ignition circuit, which capacitor is charged up in steps to a predetermined value. Whilst switching means are provided to discharge the capacitor periodically.
