Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:An o-acylaminophenol derivative expressed by formula I (R1, R2, R4 and R6 are alkyl or aromatic groups; R3 is H, alkyl or aromatic group; R5 is a group capable of replacing H at the 3- or 6-position to the OH group, e.g. alkyl or alkoxy group; n is 0, 1 or 2).
EXAMPLE: 2-Acetylamino-4 t-buty1-5-hexadecyloxyphenol.
USE: An intermediate for a coloring matter-releasing redox compound of a color photosensitive material.
PROCESS: A resorcinol derivative of formula II is nitrosated, reduced and further acetylated, to prepare a compound of formula III, whose ring is closed to give an oxazole derivative of formula IV. The oxazole derivative is then O-alkylated, to give a compound of formula V, which is subjected to ring opening to afford a compound of formula I.
