Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Trisazo compound of formulaI.
USE: The compound is used as a raw material for a lamination type photo-sensitive material for electrophotography. It is particularly highly sensitive to the wave range of a semiconductor laser and useful as a photo-sensitive material for laser printers.
PREPARATION: 4,4',4"-Triaminotriphenylamine of formula II is diazotized to form a hexazonium salt of formula III (wherein X is an anionic functional group) which is then reacted with 2-hydroxy-3-(2-ethylphenylcarbamoyl)benzo(α)carbazole of formula IV to produce the trisazo compound of formulaI.
