Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to simply measure the current distribution on a metal plate by sticking magnetic tape coated with magnetic powder on the metal plate, and after making a current flow through said metal plate, observing the arranged condition of the magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:Tape 3, which has a surface coated with magnetic powder and a back surface coated with a bonding agent, is stuck on various places on the metal plate 1. When a current flows through the metal plate 1, a magnetic field is generated thereat, so that the magnetic powder is lined up in a given direction affected by the flowing direction of the current. Accordingly, by observing the arranged condition of the magnetic powder on the tape after the current has flowed by using a microscope, or investigating said arranged condition of the magnetic powder by applying a polarized light, the current distribution can be measured. Thereby, the distribution of current flowing through a metal plate can be measured by an extremely simple method.
