Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain tension in each position constant and stabilize tension distributions by disposing tension detectors to front and rear bridle rollers as well as their intermediate, and operating motor voltage by reference tension values and tension signals. CONSTITUTION:In a carrying plant for strip 5, load cells 45, 44, 42 are disposed just behind front bridle rolls 7, just before rear bridle rolls 8 and at their intermediate, respectively. A tension controller 48 is provided for the rolls 7. It compares a tension reference H with the tension signal J at the furnace inlet of the load cell 45, and outputs the current indication value B conforming to the deviation thereof, thereby maintaining the tension at the furnace inlet constant. In the same manner, tension controllers 46, 47 compare tension references F, G with the tension detection signals K, E of the load cells 44, 42, output current indication values respectively to maintain the tension constant, with the intermediate position and the rolls 8, as well.
