Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically control such a complicated shape defect as composite elongation, and to obtain a flat shape, by installing plural shape detectors on the run-out side of a rolling roll, and by operating the detected values for the purpose of separately adjusting plural cooling-and-heating devices. CONSTITUTION:Plural shape detectors 3 are arranged at a uniform interval on the run-out side of a rolling mill; the outputs of these detectors 3 are inputted to an input processor 5 and are therein converted to elongation which is then compared with the reference elongation. On the basis of distribution of thus obtained deviation of the elongation, the cooling rate and heating rate of plural cooling-and-heating devices 4 for the rolled material are operated for every section of the breadth of the rolled material. The result of this operation is inputted to an output unit 7 which then outputs the cooling rate and heating rate of plural cooling-and-heating devices 4 by using an influence factor stored in a memory unit 6; hereby, the shape of the rolled material is controlled. By the present control system, plural cooling-and-heating devices 4 are separately controlled and a product with required flat shape and thickness is obtained.
