Abstract

PURPOSE: To surely produce a light alloy casting of high quality by providing a conductor in the sprue part, detecting the arrival of molten metal at the sprue, and lowering the rate of supply of the molten metal after this until the pouring into the cavity is completed at the time of filling the molten metal into the cavity.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of producing a light alloy casting by using a sand mold 8, molten metal A is filled into a cavity 12 through a stalk 5 and a sprue 9, wherein a conductor 14 is provided to the sprue 9 part to detect the arrival of the molten metal A at the sprue 9. The conductor 14 sends this detection signal to a pouring pressure controller 18 by way of a detctor 17. The controller 18 upon receiving this lowers the rate of supply of the molten metal A until the pouring into the cavity 12 is completed. Upon completion of the pouring, the sprue 9 is closed and the sand mold 8 is turned upside down.
