Abstract
PURPOSE: To calculate steel weights highly accurately, reduce the waste of material and improve yield by accurately knowing the inside volumes and inside surface shapes of molds in making preparatory plans by registering basic specifications at every new manufacture and renewal of the molds.
CONSTITUTION: At the new manufacture of a mold for ingot making, the basic steel weight of the molten steel of a reference kind of steel is determined from the inside volume of the mold, and is sent from a cathode ray tube CRTA to a computer and is stored thereon. At the renewing, the record of repair is sent from the CRTB and the reference steel weight is reviewed. When order data are inputted, the specific weight ratio and the average deviation of the steel weight estimated from the components of the target steel materials are added to the reference steel weight, and the corrected reference steel weight is calculated. Thence, the correction instruction steel weight taking the lowering of the recessed mold of a molding board into consideration is calculated and based on this, the mold is planned.
