Abstract

PURPOSE:To calculate the amt. of Mn in molten steel with high accuracy during blowing and to expedite its regulation by estimating the end point amt. of Mn from the mathematical expression corresponding the rate of de-Mn and the amts. of Mn and C in the steel and the direct measurement of the amts. of Mn and C in the steel at the end period of blowing. CONSTITUTION:The rate of de-Mn at the end period of blowing of converter operations is expressed by the mathematical expression wherein the amts. of Mn and C of molten steel (hereinafter omitted) are used as variables. The estimation equation for determining the amt. of Mn at the end point of blowing is beforehand obtained in accordance with said expression and the actual data including at least the amts. of Mn and C obtained through measurement with a sublance at the point of time before a suitable time from the end point of blowing and the amts. of Mn and C at the end point of blowing. At every blowing, the amts. of Mn and C obtained through the measurement with a sublance at the point of time before a suitable time from the end point of blowing and the target value of the amt. of C at the end point of blowing are at least given to said estimation equation, and the amt. of Mn at the end point of blowing is estimated. This estimated value and the same target value are compared, and a material contg. Mn of the amt. necessary for making these coincident is charged to the molten steel till the end of blowing or after the same.
