Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a rapid and easy starting of a fulidizing bed combustion device without the additional installation of a starting device, by a method wherein a partition is placed at a part of the inside of a fluidizing bed combustion furnace to form a starting part which forms an independent fluidizing bed combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized coal is fed into a starting port 3 through a jet duct 18 togetherwith air current, and air is sent forth from an air box 10 through a porous plate 14 through the force of a swirl current to form a fluidizing bed 24. Meanwhile, liquid fuel is supplied from a fuel feed pipe 6, and pulverized coal is fired by means of a firing burner 4. After temperature in the bed is raised after firing, the height of the fluidizing bed 24 increases gradually with the increase in a velocity of flow of air, and fired coal particles are caused to move to a fluidizing bed boiler part, in which conduction pipes 5 are placed, in a manner to overflow over the partition 16. Unburnt coal particles, which slowly move in the boiler part, make contact with burnt coal particles to be fired.
