Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the moisture proof and thus ensure a long lifetime for an optical recording element, by laminating an organic resin matter having a small water permeability and an inorganic matter on the surface of an optical recording medium film and furthermore laminating an optically transparent laminated matter at least on a surface of the optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:For an optical recording element such as an optical disk or the like, an optical recording medium film 22 is formed on an acrylic resin matter 21. An organic transparent resin matter 23 such as a transparent silicone resin or the like is formed on the film 22 in the form of a protective layer, and then an inorganic matter 25 such as SiO2 or the like having no water permiability at all is formed on the matter 23 by a sputtering method or the like. At the same time, the same SiO2 film 24 is formed on the other surface of the matter 21. Thus a deterioration due to the permeated moisture from outside is avoided for the film 22 (mainly composed of a metal film such as the chalcogenide group), the matter 23 functioning as a protective layer and the substrate resin matter 21 each. An opaque metal film causing no water permeation is also usable for the film 24. The matter 21 and 23 are suited for an organic resin having a small heat conductivity to obtain a high-sensitivity recording element.
