Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate size reduction of heat transmission surfaces without being accompanied by phase change between conditions such as boiling and evaporation in a method of recovering effectively power from the sensible heat of industrial waste gas at middle and low temperatures by heat exchange between gas and gas or gas and liquid particularly in the heat exchange of the waste gas.
CONSTITUTION: In a vapor circulating cycle acting under a semienclosed condition of proper vapor pressure within the overheated vapor area and constituted from a overheater SH and water spray damper S, the overheater SH supplies a portion of its sensible heat through the heat exchange between waste gas and vapor to have the saturated vapor overheated which is divided into circulating vapor and exhaust one, the former being returned to the initial saturated vapor by direct jet cooling of a portion of high pressure hot water and the latter being adiabatically expanded by a steam turbine T to enter a condenser CD and condense. On the other hand, the remaining sensible heat of waste gas at the outlet of the overheater SH is given to the whole condensed water through heat exchange between the waste gas and boosted condensed water, and a portion of the whole condense water becoming high pressure hot water is used for jet cooling of said circulating vapor. The remaining high pressure hot water is adiabatically expanded by a hot water turbine HWT to enter the condenser CD and condense.
