Abstract

PURPOSE: To inject the agent to be injected into an exhaust duct uniformly by a method wherein an inlet pipe for a reducing agent or a hydrogen peroxide solution provided in a passage for combustion exhaust gas is placed adjacently to a pipe through which a cooling fluid flows.
CONSTITUTION: An ammonia inlet pipe 2 and a hydrogen peroxide inlet pipe 3 having injecting nozzles 4 and 5 respectively are fitted to a cooling tank 15 such a manner that the nozzles 4, 5 are exposed to a exterior, and the assembly is placed in the passage for the exhaust gas 8. The interior of the tank 15 is partitioned into water passages a, b, c by partition plates 16, 17. The cooling water 25 introduced from above flows downwards through the passage a, then it flows into the passages b, c and after inversion of flow direction, the cooling water 25 flows out upwardly. Aqueous ammonia solution 6 is cooled by water 25 in the passage b and is sprayed, in the liquid state without being boiled or evaporated, from the nozzle 4 in the direction opposite to the flow of the exhaust gas 8. Similarly, the aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution 7 is cooled by the water 25 in the passage c and is sprayed as a liquid from the nozzle 5 in the direction of the flow of the exhaust gas 8.
