Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve strength and corrosion resistance by lowering the m.p. of the gold braze obtained by constituting the same into the specific structure contg. Au, In, Ni, Sn, Zn and consisting of the balance Cu.
CONSTITUTION: The gold braze is obtained by 50W80% Au, 2W17% In, 5W15% Ni, 3W14% Sn, 1W10% Zn, and the balance Cu with unavoidable impurities, by weight. The resultant gold braze is the extremely useful braze which is as low as about 700°CW800°C in m.p., is highly strong and corrosion resistant, and permits highly strong and highly corrosion-resistant brazing of dissimilar materials such as joining of german silver and brass members to other materials.
