Abstract
PURPOSE:To contrive so that the sludge or dust staying in a clearance may be removed by detecting an interpolar clearance and controlling the amplitude of an electrode feeding servo system with the help of the detection output. CONSTITUTION:A digital scale 34 installed on an electrode support bar 32 generates a pulse SP in a plus direction when the electrode 10 descends. While the said scale generates a pulse SN in a minus direction when the electrode ascends. These pulses are inputted to a reversible counter 36. A count value on the reversible counter 36 represents a difference between the optimal position where the electrode 10 is fed toward a work 14 and the present position of the electrode 10. This count value is converted to an analog signal by means of DA converter 40 and then is inputted to a circuit GC which controls an amplitude of an interpolar servo system.
