Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the detection of the tap deviation of a transformer with a set of dial switches by employing two auxiliary relays operating in cooperation with a bus disconnecting switch and two tap deviation detecting auxiliary relay for each transformer and connecting them to an AC power source through diodes connected in reverse direction to one another. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary relay 89AX1 operates when a corresponding transformer is connected to an A bus, while an auxiliary relay 89BX1 operates when the transformer is connected to a B bus. Auxiliary relays 89AX2, 89BX2 and 89AX3, 89BX3 operate in the same manner. When the first and second transformers are connected to the A bus and the third transformer is connected to the B bus, the auxiliary relays 89AX1, 89AX2, 89BX3 operate. If no tap deviation exists, an auxiliary relay 33AX2 operate, and an A bus tap deviation detecting relay D does not operate. If a tap deviation exists in the first or the second transformer, an auxiliary relay 33AX2 does not operate, but the relay D operates to detect the malfunction.
