Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the sequence error of a microprogram effectively and independently of an address generation part, by adding less hardware by appending sequence check information to each microinstruction. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of a microaddress generated by sequence control circuit 3, sequence check information 2 is read out of control storage circuit 4 together with microinstruction 1 and then stored in the 1st register 5. Next, adder 6 adds one to the check information in register 5 and the result is stored in the 2nd register 7 to store new check information in register 5. Then, the check information in register 5 is checked by zero deciding circuit 9 to make sure that the check information is not zero, and the output of noncoincidence detecting circuit 8 which has detected the coincidence between the outputs of registers 5 and 7 and the output of circuit 9 are ANDed by AND circuit 10, thereby detecting the sequence error of a program independently of an address generation part.
