Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop and restart DFP when needed and make DFP of a small scale possible by inserting a buoy into a crucible which consists of forming a melting furnace, a holding furnace and a crucible into one piece and providing a core wire pulling inside cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A crucible 8 of a bottomed double cylindrical shape is heated with heating coils 9, to melt raw material, the temp. whereof is measured with a thermocouple 13, thereby controlling the molten metal to a preset temp. Next, a dummy bar 11 of the same diameter as that of a base material core wire 1 is inserted into the inside hold 8d of the inside cylinder 8a through the crucible bottom 8b, and a core wire 1 is directly connected to the lower part thereof. Thence, a buoy 10 is sunk in molten metal 2, to force up the molten metal level and to control a molten metal level 12, so as to form a molten metal layer A. Next, when the dummy bar 11 is pulled up at a constant speed, the core wire 1 connected thereto is pulled up and at the time when it passes the layer A, the molten metal solidifies and sticks around the core wire 1. On decreasing of the molten metal amount of the layer A, the molten metal in the layer B forced into the buoy 10 is forced upward to the layer A, whereby the balance of the molten metal level is maintained. In this way, the repetition of the stopping and restarting of DFP is easily accomplished at the time as reguired by the forcing in and pulling up of the buoy 10.
