Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to evacuate only the required part of a cylindrical body by a method wherein a hollow ring shape elastic member inflatable with the internal pressure is provided at both sides of the vacuum chamber formed to sheathe the outer periphery of the cylindrical body.
CONSTITUTION: The outer periphery of the cylindrical assembly to be welded 1 is sheathed over a prescribed length with the vacuum chamber 7. At both sides of the vacuum chamber are fitted housing 10 respectively fixing smoothly and movably on the cylindrical assembly through a holder 11 and bearings 12.
