Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of vibration during processing of a work by applying fluid pressure from the side opposite to a work surface of a thin wall cylinder, for performing the processing, and as well to prevent thermal deformation in the work by making heat due to the processing absorbed into pressure fluid. CONSTITUTION:A mounting jig 2 for applying fluid pressure from the side opposite to a work surface of a work comprises a jig body 6 which is formed with a recess portion receiving the bottom portion of a thin wall cylinder 1 and is integrally incorporated with an outer cylindrical portion 5 surrounding the outer periphery of the thin wall cylinder 1 and defining a pressure chamber 4 with the latter, and a ring-shape holding plate 7 secured to the jig body 6 by bolts 8, for holding the top surface of the cylinder 1. Fluid pressure is applied to the outer periphery of the cylinder which is opposite to the work surface of the latter, through a supply port 12 when the processing is carried out, while the processing of the inner diameter portion is performed with the use of a cutter 15 or the like.
