Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable advancing in an diagonal direction and a lateral direction of a ship by means of a single handling lever, by a method wherein the lever is set so that it can be handled in an optional direction within a range of 360°.
CONSTITUTION: Propellers 7P and 7S are placed at both sides at equal spaces from the center of turn O of a ship. A device is constituted such that the angle of the propulsive direction of the propeller 7P to the longitudinal directon of the ship is set at 90°+θ-y and that of the propeller 7s at an angle of 90°-θ-y, where θ is an angle of a handling lever HL, which can freely revolve within a range of 360°, to the longitudinal direction line X of the ship, and y is an angle of intersection where the line X crosses lines drawn from the center O to revolution centers A and B of the propellers 7P and 7s. As a result, even in case the lever HL is positioned at any angle, a position in which the propeller 7P at the port side shall be located is determined from a formula of LR-θ-y, and the position of the propeller 7s at the starboard is also fixed from a formula of LR+θ-y. This enables to perform an automatic control.
