Abstract

Ship maneuvering gear for a ship having two 360°-­ turning propellers disposed symmetrically relative to the ship's central bow-stern line, has a rotatable hand lever (HL) and an arithmetic circuit (MC) which responds to the rotation of the hand lever. When the hand lever (HL) is rotated by an angle relative to the ship's bow-stern direction, the output from the arithmetic circuit (MC) controls the orientations of the two propellers so that the composite propulsive power of the two propellers causes the ship to move in a lateral or obliquely lateral direction without causing any turn of the ship, which direction is in agreement with said angle of rota­ tion of the hand lever.
