Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an asymmetric current around a stern without providing a center fin by providing a nozzle capable of exhausting a water stream inward nearly horizontally on one side of a hull section above a screw propeller. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 11 is formed so that the stream exhausting direction is horizontal or inclined to the horizontal line at an angle of about 30 deg. or less. E.g., when a stagnant point of an asymmetric current around the stern is mainly created on the port side, the water stream is exhausted from the port side to the starboard side. Then, the stagnant point is moved to the right, and as a result, asymmetry of the stern current is reduced, and an increase of resistances under inclined propulsion and steering is also reduced.
