Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the water resistance and to improve the safety when the ship sails by providing a water passage from bow to stern to the part of water line of hull.
CONSTITUTION: The water passage 10 is provided to the part of water line of the hull from bow to stern. The screw 5 and the rudder 20 are installed in the passage. The passage is formed by attaching pipes 11, 11', which are symmetric with respect to the center line of hull, to the ship's bottom from bow 2 to stern 3 and by connecting both the pipes with each other at the stern. The flaps 12, 12' prevents the float of bow and the inflow of dust, and the shutters 13, 13' open and close the passage. In this way, the water resistance can be reduced, resulting in the improvement of economization.
