Abstract
PURPOSE: To cool a main engine, power generator, etc. and save its energy in such a way that water is naturally flowed into the inboard by means of providing a water taking port at a place where water flow speed around the hull of a ship in navigation, and a drain port at a place having larger water flow speed than the said water flow speed.
CONSTITUTION: A water taking port 3 is installed at a place of the stern end under sea level, and a drain port 4 is installed at a side part which has faster flow speed than the said stern end under sea level at the center part of the hull. The water taking port 3 and the drain port 4 are combined through a water conduit 5, a water taking valve 6 is installed near the water taking port 3, and a drain valve 7 is installed near the drain port 4. Since the structure is as such, during navigation of the ship, static pressure in the water taking port 3 becomes larger than the static pressure in the drain port 4, so that sea water can be naturally flowed into the inboard by opening the said valves 6, 7, and cooling of the main engine 8, etc. can be done.
