Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the rising of arc starting current faster by negating the magnetic flux generated by the current flowing in the 1st reactor by means of the magnetic flux generated by the current flowing in the 2nd reactor.
CONSTITUTION: The 1st reactor 7 is inserted and connected in series between a welding power source 1 and welding load by the arc 3, and the 2nd reactor 7' is connected in parallel via switch 8 to the power source 1. Here, when an arc start signal enters, the currents i1, i2 flowing in the 1st reactor 7 and the 2nd reactor 7' flow simultaneously. The 1st reactor 7 and the 2nd reactor 7' are constituted by being so wound that the magnetic fluxes generated by the currents flowing therethrough negate each other and therefore if the current i1 flows through the 2nd reactor 7', the inductance of the 1st reactor 7 decreases and the start current i2 of extremely fast rise is obtained. In this way, working performance and quality are improved.
