Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the starting characteristics of arc, by connecting the rectifier circuit of pulse current to the midway of rectifier circuit of welding current and superposing the pulse current on the welding current when the arc is completed, so that the ball at the end of wire is made small.
CONSTITUTION: DC reactor 12 of the pulse current which is higher than the arc voltage is connected to the midway of DC reactor L1 to be used for smoothening the welding current or an independent DC reactor is installed. Then, CO2 welding, MIG welding, MAG welding, etc., are performed with only DC reactor L1 without operating DC reactor 12. When the welding is completed, the pulse current is superposed on DC reactor L1 from DC reactor 12.
