Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform welding of high quality at high speed and high efficiency by using multiple electrodes, and carrying out welding by flowing AC pulse current to one electrode and DC minus pulse current to the other electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodes 14, 17 are used as multiple electrodes. AC pulse current A is flowed between the electrode 14 and base metals 15, and DC minus pulse current B is flowed between the electrode 17 and base metals 15; even more, the currents A and B are flowed by being alternately switched. Therefore, oxide film is broken by the cleaning effect of the AC pulse current A, and deep penetration welding is accomplished by the DC minus pulse current B. In order to facilitate reignition of the arc, the AC pulse current A and the DC minus pulse current B are superposed with high-frequency high-voltage pulses at the rising of the respective currents.
