Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an arc welder with two functions of cutting and welding by making it possible for an insulating transformer for welding to selectively output a secondary output voltage for welding and a secondary output power voltage for cutting higher than it.
CONSTITUTION: The primary electric circuit of the arc welder consists of insulating transformer 1 made of primary winding 1a and secondary winding 1b, obtaining secondary output voltage L for arc welding and secondary output voltage H for simple plasma arc cutting, rectifier 2, smoothing reactor 3, welding torch 4a, cutting torch 4b, and change-over switch 5. Thus, operation such as welding can be started by the selection of change-over switch 5 immediately after cutting, so that the number of operation processes can be reduced for rationalization.
