Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently recover a clean gas and to obtain a slag utilizable as a ceramic material, etc. by providing a gasification furnace of said gasifier with a hood for the collection of a gas produced airtightly and separably, along with a slag-discharging chamber and a slag-modifying oven. CONSTITUTION:In the titled gasifier, gasification furnace 1 is airtightly and separably equipped at the top with hood 2 for the collection of a gas and provided with slag-discharging chamber 3, to which slag-modifying oven 4 is placed connectively. High-temp molten iron is supplied to the gasification furnace 1, into which coal, oxygen and steam are introduced through nonimmersed multihole lances 6 and reacted with each other. The gas generated is recovered through duct 8. The slag produced is continuously discharged through the slag-discharging chamber 3 to the slag-modifying oven 4, in which it is desulfurized with oxygen blown through lance 7 and recovered from modified slag-discharging chamber 5 after modified with silica sand supplied through lance 20.
