Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and inexpensive leak water detector by forming a water collector for collecting leak water on the bottom of a module, disposing a light signal generator and an optical fiber connected to a receiver at the water collector and detecting the leak water by the magnitude of the light signal. CONSTITUTION:A recess water collector 9 for collecting the water leaked from a module is formed on the bottom surface of a thyristor module frame 1. An optical fiber 10 is disposed at the water collector, the end of the optical fiber is connected to a light signal generator 12 and a receiver 13, and a leak water detector 11 is formed. The light signal (a) from the light signal generator varies its leak amount according to the air or water in the environment to detect the presence of the leak water by the difference of the magnitude of the signal. Thus, a leak water detector of a thyristor bulb having high reliability can be obtained with a simple optical system.
