PURPOSE:To cool a mold uniformly and cast plural products of high quality continuously by providing means for main cooling of the mold body from the outer side and auxiliary cooling of the hard-to-cool areas on the inner side in a mold of a multi-strand system. CONSTITUTION:Plural die holes 2 are juxtaposed in a parallel in the central part of a mold body 1. A main cooler 3 is provided on the outside circumferential surface of this body 1, and auxiliary coolers 7 are mounted in the hard-to-cool areas A between the die holes 2. This mold part machanism C1 is mounted to a continuous casting machine and molten metal is poured simultaneously into the plural die holes and casting is carried out while pouring cooling water into the main cooler 3 and the auxiliary coolers 7. Thereby, the poured molten metal is cooled uniformly, the possibility for local temp. elevation in the parts further from the outside circumference of the mold 1 is eliminated and the cast product free from rough casting surfaces etc. is obtained.
