Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a colored film having superior performances such as weatherability, colorability, throwing power and others by electrolyzing Al with superposing DC and AC in a bath consisting essentially of inorg. acids, org. acids, or their salts then subjecting the same to coloring electrolysis treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Al is subjected to pretreatment such as degreasing and is electrolyzed by superposing DC and AC in a treating bath consisting essentially of one or more kinds of inorg. acids, org. acids or their salts. Thence, predetermined coloring electrolysis treatment is performed in coloring liquid contg. acids or salts of various kinds of metals associating to coloring. By this treatment, the colored film which is superior in throwing power, is free from film breakdown phenomena and surface deposition of metals and metal compounds and is good in appearance is obtained.
