Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an excellent even matting effect without any bad effect on the nature of the paint film by baking the electrodeposited matter without washing after treatment employing a salt solution.
CONSTITUTION: As electrodepositing material, prepared is a thermosetting resin (e.g. acrylic resin affiliated paint) which preferably has an anionic hydrophilic group as a termal group or dissolved or dispersed in a colloidal state with an inionic activating agent. Then, an electrodeposition bath comprising an electrodepositing material is conducted. Usually, 50W500V of DC voltage is applied to the work as positive. After sufficient cleaning with deionized water, city water or the like, the electrodeposited matter is inmmersed in a solution of a salt such as KCl. The concentration of the salt solution therein used is fixed at 0.05W5wt%. Then, the coated matter thus treated undergoes baking as intact at 150°CW200°C without washing. Ideal for the work is Al, iron, various alloys or the like, especially Al alloy shaped material, preferably an aluminum sash.
