Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily obtain a Cr-Mo type boron treated steel having superior performance by preparing a steel contg. specific ratios of Cr, Mo, B, etc., and subjecting the same to annealing and tempering at specific temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: A steel contg. 0.15W0.45% C, 0.05W0.80% Si, 0.30W1.70% Mn, ≤0.03% P, ≤0.03% S, 0.50W1.50% Cr, 0.2W0.80% Mo, ≤0.05% Ti, 0.02W 0.10% Al, 0.0005W0.0010% B, and consisting the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities is prepared. This is hardened from the heating temp. above AC3 point + 30°C and below the austenite grain coarsening initiation temp. Following to this, it is subjected to annealing at the temp. above 630°C and below the AC1 point in the conditions of PLM≤2.15×103 in the formula PLM=T(20+logt) [where T: absolute temp. °K, t: hour h]. If necessary, one or both of 0.01W0.10% Nb and 0.01W0.10% V may be contained in the steel.
