Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce fluctuations in the tension of the material in a treating equipment by controlling the number of revolutions of the roll driving motor to drive the upstream-side carrying roll under a specified condition, in a controller which controls tension of a band steel in a treating equipment for plating, pickling or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A material 1 such as a band steel is fed throgh an upstream-side carrying roll 2 and a tension regulating roll 16 to a treating oven 4 and moreover carried to the downstream side by means of a downstream-side carrying roll 5. In this case, the tension regulating roll 16 applies a constant tension to the material 1 by means of a motor 18 controlled by a current controller 17. In addition, the tension acting on the material in the treating oven 4 is measured by means of a tension measuring apparatus 10, and the differnce between said measured value and the preset value of a desired tension setting device 19 is obtained in a comparing amplifier 11. Then, said difference, together with the deviation of the length of a loop 1A from the desired position, which is obtained in a comparing amplifier 7, is applied to a speed controller 8. Thereby, a motor 9 or the circumferential speed of the roll 2 is controlled.
