Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent dust from rising and largely reduce the power needed for a pulverulent and granular body handling equipment by employing a vacuum suction pneumatic conveying system for the mixing portion of the vertical transport unit and a portion thereof, and a mechanical system using chains, screw conveyors and the like for the transport route thereafter.
CONSTITUTION: In landing such pulverulent and granular bodies as grain in a vessel 2, first, they are sucked from a nozzle 6 by the vacuum produced by a vacuum pump 29 and sent through a transport pipe 7 to a separator 8, where the pulverulent and granular bodies are separated and fed, by a feeder 9, to a vertical transport apparatus 10, from which they are fed through a horizontal transport apparatus 14, a hopper 25 and an internal conveyor 26 to an external crossfeed conveyor 33. On the other hand, the dust-containing air from the separator 8 is led to a separating collector 27, where dust is moreover separated and returned through a rotary feeder 28 to the internal conveyor 26.
