PURPOSE:To easily find the autocorrelation function of an input pulse string, by constituting an overflow memory circuit so that the bit number of a counter can be set freely. CONSTITUTION:An input pulse string is converted by signal converter 7 for a logic circuit into a signal for the logic circuit, which is made into a synchronizing pulse string by synchronizing circuit 8. The synchronizing pulse signal is divided into two parts and one part is sent to pruner 9. Pruner 9 counts the pulse number in every unit time and outputs ''1'' when the count number is more than a set value or ''0'' when not. The output of pruner 9 is converted 11 into a parallel signal, which is supplied to AND gate 12 to be ANDed with the synchronizing signal from circuit 8. The output of gate 12 is counted by counter 13, whose overflow is stored in overflow circuit 14. This circuit 14 can set the bit number of counter 13 optionaly. Therefore, the bit number can be selected according to an input pulse frequency, so that various information can be processed precisely.
