Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of measurement by detecting an inclination angle through the image processing of an inclination part on a material thus correcting an apparent detected thickness value. CONSTITUTION:An apparent thickness (t) of a material such as steel plate, etc. is detected 2 by means of an X-ray or gamma-ray thickness gauge 21 by a conventional method. In the meantime, a correction line 3 equipped with a video camera 31 is set and the inclination angle theta of a corrugated part of steel plate is detected through image processings. Then (t) is multiplied by costheta to calculate a real thickness T, so that it is displayed and recorded by an indicator and a recorder. Under this constitution, it is possible to improve the realiability of measurement.
