Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to acquire a file of necessary size as required by preparing virtual memory files as divided. CONSTITUTION:In the same virtual volume VOL, two virtual memory files VSF1 and VSF2 are generated by being divided and file VSF1 corresponds to virtual address partition VSR1. Then, when a program is loaded in partition VSR1, the program is stored in file VSF1 as well and once the job that corresponds to this program ends, partition VSR1 and file VSF1 are freed. Similarly, the other file VSF2 corresponds to the other virtual address partition VSR2 and functions independently of file VSF1 and partition VSR1. Therefore, a file of required size can be acquired upon occasion, and while the efficiency of utilization of the volume is improved, input and output operations are performed in parallel in the occurrence of a page fault. Additionally, an emergency job can immediately be processed.
