Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the sensitivity, wear resistance, etc. without raising the residual potential and exerting unfavorable influence on the receptive potential and dark attenuation extent of the surface layer by forming a transparent insulating resin layer contg. a dye and a pyridinium salt on the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:An insulating layer of <=20mu thickness is formed on a photoconductive layer contg. an inorg. or org. photoconductive material. The insulating layer contains triphenylmethane dye, rhodamine dyd or other dye and a pyridinium salt such as the salt of the formula or a vinylpyridine (co)polymer by >=0.01pt.wt to 100pts.wt. of a transparent insulating resin. Thus, an electrophotographic receptor with superior dielectric strength and enhanced flexibility is obtd. The harmful photoconductive substance such as Se or Cd is not directly exposed to the surface of the receptor.
