Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the slippery characteristic and abrasion resistance of an anodic oxidation film of aluminum by subjecting said anodic oxidation film to secondary electrolysis treatment in a metallic salt soln. of thio-acid, thence allowing the same to contact a heating medium.
CONSTITUTION: Aluminum or aluminum alloy is electrolyzed in an acidic bath or alkaline bath, whereby a porous alumite film is formed. Thence, if necessary, it is subjected to pretreatment, after which it is subjected to secondary electrolysis treatment in a soln. of salts of thio-acids of metals such as thiomolybdic acid by controlling its pH to around 4W12. The anodic oxidation film having undergone the secondary electrolysis treatment is heat-treated, whereby the film and the impregnated sulfide are modified. As heat-treatment means, said film is immersed in a heating melt of, for example, low m.p. metals such as tin and bismuth or low m.p. compounds such as ammonium hydrogensulfate or by doing others thereby shutting off the material to be treated from oxygen in the outside part and heating the same. Thereby, the lubricity is much improved.
